HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We have had an exciting week! First a trip to upstate New York and then Halloween.
Rob needed to fly a few more miles so he could be a preferred flier, we therefor flew to Buffalo, New York. We drove over to the church historical sites in Palmyra. We saw the Hill Camorah, Joseph Smith's log cabin and house, the Sacred Grove, Peter Whitmer's house, and the Grandin Printing office. We went to the Palmyra Temple one night too. It is silly but the highlight of the trip for me was visiting with a women who worked in one of the little stores. We talked to her for ninety minutes and only stopped then because we all needed to get to the temple. She answered our questions about the area and whenever she was a little overwhelmed with emotion (starting to cry) she would wave her hand over her face and say, "Oh,oh," until she could talk again. The low point was watching the BYU/TCU game in the hotel. The Y played awful and I was afraid we could be asked to leave the hotel because Rob was yelling at the TV just like at home.
Tuesday morning I met Erin and Sara at the mall to try on Jolt jeans. They loved them, but I wasn't a fan. While we were busy with the pants, Lucas was eating some Smarties. Kamrie wanted one but he wouldn't share. I told him that he had plenty and should give her some. He said, "I'm too mean to share." I had to leave the dressing room so he couldn't see me laughing. I hurried from the mall to meet Rob. We took Avery and Wells to lunch for their birthdays. Thursday we had a Halloween party for the all the kids. Kace was the lucky one playing Bingo. He was excited to win two paper dollars. I painted pumpkins with chalkboard paint that they could draw on, they got jack-o-lantern stickers, we played pin the nose on the pumpkin, and decorated cookies. The kids all took pictures, but I was too busy being the party planner, so no pictures from me.

An Extra-Special Sunday Dinner

So how great are my kids! Today they brought dinner to us to say thank-you for the Disney World trip. We had yummy soup in homemade bread bowls shaped like Mickey Mouse. The food was wonderful, but the after dinner entertainment was even better. They put their pictures together and Jill made a DVD of our trip. It is a priceless treasure to remind us of the great time we had together. Then the big surprise of the evening was a short game of "Bean Boozled". We finished up with Mickey and Minnie cookies.

Summer is over and no one is more upset about it than our dog, Chloe. Her favorite thing to do is play in the water while I water the plants. I have stopped watering but she continues to run to the door in anticipation of the hose. I feel bad, but in this weather she would turn into a popsicle. She'll just have to wait until it is time for her second favorite activity--chasing the snow flying from the snow blower.
