Our construction is done!

Yes, that is a chandelier in my closet!

We finally finished our master bath and closet construction. It was worth all the mess and hassle. We LOVE it! It is hard to believe that we had all that stuff in that other closet.

BYU Basketball

Rob and I decided that we would follow the BYU basketball team to the NCAA tournament. We ended up in Oklahoma City! We were front and center (well actually about mid-way up and center) to watch the team finally get the monkey (or gorilla) off their back as they won the first round game in double overtime. We started watching basketball at 11:30 a.m. and finished that night at about 11:00 p.m. Today is a basketball free day for me, but there are games on TV. I would be anxious to leave the hotel room and see the sites, but tourism is not the major industry here and we still have most of the day tomorrow to kill before the Kansas State game at 4:00 p.m.

Family Pictures--What a zoo!

Before Christmas we got the entire family, twelve adults and 9 kids, together to finally take a picture. Getting everyone looking at the camera and happy all at the same time was next to impossible, but with such cute grandkids anything would be adorable. These are the ones we liked best, before editing.

What a mess!

These are pictures of what used to be and I hope will be again, our master bath. We also took down the wall between our closet and the bedroom next door to make our closet bigger. Monday, we started with the demolition. The extra bedroom down the hall is now home to all of the contents of our closet and we are using the bathroom that used to accommodate the kids. It really isn't bad except in the middle of the night or when the workmen are here and I forgot to get clothes before showering.

So, Six days and counting. Any bets as to how long this renovation will take?

Where Did December Go?

It's already January 2nd. Where did December go? I always want time to stop about the 15th or so because I want the fun and excitement of the holiday season to last longer.

We started the month at our annual bowling party in Tooele with Rob's extended family. My grandkids all love bowling, but Lucas adores it. He even watching bowling on TV. We always have a great time seeing cousins and new babies.

We had our good friends, the Phunorskis over for dinner. We missed the Harris', but had a fantastic time with the Berrys and Cooks. We always have such a good time with them. It is so nice to have "old" friends like them. At the end of the evening we shared our favorite family game with them--Beanboozled of course. I think Jelly Belly should start giving us a commission on those we get hooked on this game.

Christmas Eve we spent the evening with most of our kids and my 98 year old mom. Sara, Matt and Lucas didn't come over until Christmas Day. The program, after dinner and before presents, was the highlight of the night. We heard great renditions of "You Better Watch Out" from both the Bodine boys and Avery. Steve's family had a coloring activity for the little ones. Jill lead her annual activity of having us play a song with the chimes. Erin did "This is the Stable" and had Kamrie sing a song too.

Christmas day started out slow at our house. Whatever happened to getting up before dawn to see if Santa really made it to our house? Rob went around the house moping until the kids came about 12:30. We exchanged gifts with Sara's and Erin's families, after a quick lunch. Later that afternoon we met all the kids at the theater for this year's wonderful Christmas movie "The Princess and the Frog." We finished off the celebrating at my sister Carol's house for dinner. My mom was there again as well a Paul and his family who surprised everyone by arriving two days earlier than they had said.

I usually hate New Year's Eve, but this year I quite enjoyed it. Rob and I went to a movie. As we were getting in our car we had a call from Jill. She and Preston were going to have friends over for a party, but Wells got sick and they had to cancel. They invited us over to play "Ticket to Ride." We enjoyed the quiet evening. We were so engrossed in the game that we missed the New Year arriving at midnight.

I got to begin 2010 sick in bed. Evidently Wells and I have been in the same places lately and it just took me a day longer to get sick. I felt so crumby I just laid in bed all day watching really bad, but censored, Jennifer Aniston movies. It led me to wonder, are there any good Jennifer Aniston movies?

Today I feel great and am so thankful for my good health. I think I take it for granted way too much. I got Christmas all taken down and put away. That signaled the official end of the holiday season at our house. Now we get back to our boring(?) everyday living of life.

It's fall!

I just messed with my blog. I was not getting the pictures with the right posts so I changed them. Now I have to learn to put the captions back on the pictures.

Number Nine!

November 6th we welcomed grandchild number nine. Price Oscar Bodine was born about 9:45 am just three hours after his mom and dad arrived at the hospital. He was six pounds four ounces and about 20 inches long. As you can see in the pictures he has gobs of blonde hair.Even the nurses and doctors who see him comment on the hair because it is such a different color. We are thrilled to have him here and healthy and doing well. We know he will be a joy to the enire Coombs Clan.
